Nowcast.co.uk is an independent weather services company which was
founded in Holmfirth in the Southern Pennines in the UK, originally
set up to provide highly detailed conditions (nowcasts) and 7 day
forecasts for Pennine villages and trans-Pennine roads. Due to the
success and accuracy of our system the service was extended to hundreds
of other towns, villages and roads throughout the North of England.
We recently launched a telephone service for trans-Pennine roads which
updates using the same system, every 10 minutes.
The creator of Nowcast.co.uk, Jon Sims, is a Fellow of the Royal Meteorological
Society, TORRO, and a Member of the BCS HCI Group.
What users of the Nowcast system have said...

..as a hobby I make and fly model r/c planes and find this site
very useful..
..I live in the Holme Valley & I find your website very useful
indeed..
..it's brilliant! i shall show it to our geography coordinator tomorrow..
..an excellent, seriously useful site..
..your site will be of immense value ... your choice of data covers
most eventualities and interests..
..am hugely impressed. There are many good weather sites, but for
all the right bits of data, and especially the recognition of local
variations, this one takes the biscuit..
..great web site you have created! I am sure it will be of great
value to the local community. Having been caught out by storms in
the past I will certainly use it in preference to the TV forecasts
which always appear ambiguous for this area...
..I have been looking at your forecast over the last few weeks and
it seems very reliable...
..I've just taken a look at the website, and think it's great..I
love the pull-out filofax style!..
